Walk on the wild side.
Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking are great ways to get closer to nature and your people without straying far from the creature comforts of Tamarack Village. Whether you’re gliding, tromping or pedaling, following your bliss is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. As the scenery unfolds around you, you’ll discover stillness and serenity in the rolling hills, meadows, pine stands, aspens and our namesake, Tamarack groves. You might even cross paths with deer and other non-hibernating wildlife types like yourself. Care for a little more speed? Hop in the saddle of a fat tire mountain bike for a two-wheeled experience you won’t soon forget. Bring your own gear or rent when you get here.
Take it in stride, or in the saddle.
Snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and fat-tire mountain biking are a great way to un-hibernate for the winter. Put one foot in front of the other, and soon you’ll be walking (or pedaling) into a serene world of wintry wonder. Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat-tire biking are accessible fun for all skill levels. If you can walk, you can probably snowshoe or Nordic ski. Take your pick of technique, cross country or skate ski. And riding a fat-tire mountain bike is, well, as easy as riding a bike. It’s an invigorating workout and a perfect way to hit the reset button and relax. Wherever you find yourself on the trails, it’s also good to know you’re never too far away from a slew of top-notch lodging and dining options.
Waxing Poetic
Beginner or advanced, you’ll revel in the wonder of winter that surrounds Tamarack resort. Idaho has plenty of bluebird winter days, so there’s a good chance sunny, blue skies are on their way. Set a course for the snow-covered golf course and groomed trails, cut some fresh tracks of your own in the wide-open wilderness, or trek around the lakeshore or venture out onto the ice.
Shifting Gears
If you don’t have your own gear, rental bikes, snowshoes and nordic skis are available for rent. We’ll get you set up, give you the lay of the land and point you in the right direction. Tamarack’s Nordic Trails are open every day from dawn to dusk during the ski season. Trails are groomed Monday and Friday mornings throughout the season.
